Events for Youth and Young Adults

The Point
Trees: Finding Purpose Living Between the Trees
Do you find yourself waiting? Waiting to get out of school or off work? Waiting for your lunch break? Waiting for the weekend? It seems like it's really easy to perpetually project our good hopes into the future. Or worse, we spend time regretting the past. What about right now? What do the claims of Christianity have to say about what you and I should be doing with the time that is right in front of us RIGHT NOW? Join us for our last session of the season as we consider questions regarding purpose and meaning in life and how God's blueprint for our lives factors in. Come early for for a coffee and a chance to meet someone new.

If you have never experienced a pilgrimage, it is an event not to be missed! This year, there will be a focus on the Feast of Ste. Anne and on Blessed Kateri Tekawitha, the first North American Native to be declared a Saint! The date of the entire pilgrimage is July 23-26, 2012.

Volunteer Opportunites

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is in need of voluteers in a variety of areas. This is a great opportunity for youth and young adults (individuals or groups) to share their time and talents to assist those in need. We strongly recommend pilgrims who are going to WYD 2013 to volunteer with The Society of St. Vincent de Paul as part of their spiritual preparation. For more information on how to volunteer, contact your parish SVPP rep (if available) or visit their website by clicking on the picture of their loge (above).

Habitat for Humanity is another great organization that youth and young adult groups could participate in, particularly those preparing for their pilgrimage to World Youth Day. Not only are you serving those less fortunate in your community, but it is also a great team-builder project! Click on the logo above to find out more information about Habitat for Humanity.
