Sister Zoe BernatskyNewman Theological College is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Zoe Bernatsky, SSMI to the position of Assistant Professor of Pastoral Theology. Sister Zoe is a member of the Sister Servants of Mary Immaculate, a community of women religious in the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy. She completed her Doctorate in Sacred Theology at the Jesuit School of Theology at Santa Clara University in February 2014. Her doctoral thesis was entitled “Conscientious Objection in Health Care: A Levinasian-Virtue Ethics Approach.” 

In addition to her scholarly work, Sister Zoe has been a registered nurse since 1990. She has extensive experience in nursing, health care administration, chaplaincy, and spiritual direction, which is sure to enrich her new work of theological education at the service of forming ordained and lay ministers for the Church.
