Called by Name

What does it take to become a priest? You might be surprised. The Vocations Office of the Archdiocese of Edmonton is pleased to present “Called By Name,” a new video series that tells the stories of six men who took very different paths to priesthood. This month, our featured priest is Father Matthew Hysell. As a toddler, Matthew lost his hearing when he was treated for spinal meningitis. He grew up as a Baptist, but became Catholic as a young man. He says the priesthood has enabled him to do “what I was made to do.” Today is Associate Pastor at Corpus Christ Parish in Edmonton and Chaplain to St. Mark's Catholic Community of the Deaf . Please feel free to share his story!
