Lac Ste Anne Pilgrimage 2021 to take place online

In view of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, and following upon the counsel of Alberta Health Services, the Board of Trustees of the Lac Ste Anne Pilgrimage Site has unanimously taken the decision to hold the 2021 pilgrimage virtually, as was done in 2020. The pilgrimage this year will not take place in person.

Archbishop Smith's letter to Muslim community for Ramadan 2021

The theme of hope is central as Archbishop Richard Smith shares his letter the Muslim communities of the Edmonton area as they mark the holy month of Ramadan. “We live not only for the moment but for eternity, we are concerned not with the fulfilment of self-centred and transient desires but with allowing God to fulfil His will in us,” Archbishop Smith writes in his April 16 letter. “This is the basis or our hope both as Christians and Muslims.

Archbishop Smith announces new Divine Mercy parish in southwest Edmonton

With great joy, I announce to you the name chosen for the newest parish in the Archdiocese of Edmonton: Divine Mercy Parish. Indeed, “Divine Mercy” is a message we want echoed and lived throughout the Archdiocese. It proclaims the good news of God's unconditional love, which reaches our wounded world as mercy, and transforms suffering into hope.
